A stunning new Bentley embodies the royalty of purple.
Known historically as a color that symbolizes royalty, purple is a hue that turns heads, especially when it’s the color of a car, and especially when that shade of purple is vibrant, intense, and rich. That’s the case for Violette, a purple shade that lives in Bentley’s archive as a past color that was recently revived in a stunning commission of a new Continental GTC Speed from a UK-based client.
The 771-horsepower right-hand-drive grand tourer was commissioned through Mulliner, Bentley’s cherished and historic bespoke arm which has become incredibly popular in recent years, with a staggering number of more than 70 percent of Bentley customers today opting for at least one Mulliner feature in their vehicles, adding a personal and unique touch to their ultra-luxury machines. Violette is one of many celebrated historic colors from the Bentley palette, like the ‘50s Sage Green, the ‘60s Shell Grey, and the 2000s Rubino Red.
Violette was chosen specifically because of its bold, rich tone, and head-turning quality, and it’s paried with Gloss Black exterior brightware details to make sure it stands out, as well as a complementary interior to continue highlighting the incredible color. Thanks to Bentley’s state-of-the-art Paint Shop and talented team of artisans willing to undertake painstaking challenges for bespoke configurations, commissions as unique as this are well within the realm of possibility for the century-old ultra-luxury manufacturer.
The client is no stranger to unique Bentleys, either, having previously acquired six Bentaygas, one in Magenta, and a Continental GT in Sacarab Green, believing that Bentleys make a perfect canvas for unique, eye-catching colors. As such, Tanzanite Purple was the bespoke hide color chosen for accents throughout the interior, paring exquisitely with Linen throughout, as well as with touches of Lilac. Unique stone veneers of just 0.1mm of thickness showcase unique luxury and incredible craftsmanship ability in the interior, as well. With a hybrid powertrain delivering an incredible 771 horsepower and 734 lb/ft of torque to all four wheels, as well as a stunning purple color scheme and meticulous ultra-luxury craftsmanship, this Bentley Continental GTC Speed in Violette is a masterpiece of luxury grand touring.
