One of BMW’s longest-standing SUV icons enters its fourth generation.
The BMW X3 has been a long-standing icon in the luxury manufacturer’s lineup, celebrated for its compact size, everyday practicality, and luxurious features, and the 2025 model year marks the introduction of the new BMW X3’s fourth generation. The new 2025 BMW X3 features a redesigned exterior, mild hybrid four and six-cylinder powertrains, improved high-tech features, and other updates for the new model year.
The two variants of the 2025 BMW X3 are the X3 30 xDrive and the X3 M50 xDrive, and observant BMW fans will notice the letter “i” is missing from the new model nomenclature. For years, BMW used the letter “i” to indicate fuel injection. Going forward, however, BMW will only use the letter “i” to designate all-electric models as the historic luxury manufacturer continues along its journey towards electrification.
After more than 20 years of being one of BMW’s most successful models, the new 2025 BMW X3 boasts 393 horsepower with the 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine in the X3 M50 xDrive and 255 horsepower with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine in the X3 30 xDrive. Both engines benefit from turbocharged power and mild hybrid technology to bolster their performance and efficiency, pairing with a lighter body-in-white with greater rigidity for a thoroughly improved driving experience.
With an interior with features like the BMW Curved Display, the advanced iDrive 9 system, upholstery available in Veganza, Alcantara and Veganza, and Merino leather, it also features various luxurious options. With its improved style, sporty driving character and performance, and luxurious features inside and out, the new 2025 BMW X3, which starts at $49,500 for the X3 30 xDrive, and $64,100 for the X3 M50 xDrive, is the start of the fourth generation of one of BMW’s most important icons.
