One thing I didn’t expect to see today was a new Porsche rally car. Have I been wanting to see one? Yes. So, this is most definitely a welcome surprise. The car I’m talking about is the Cayman GT4 Clubsport rally car that Porsche surprised the world with via their revealing tweet. They note that this car is simply just a concept car, but they look forward to collecting feedback from the rallye scene at the German WRC round Rallye Deutschland.
I’m hoping they get good feedback, because I think the world needs a new Porsche rally car. They do note that the decision about whether or not a car based on this concept will be created will be made later this year.

If Porsche does create a car based on the Cayman GT4 Clubsport concept, it will be the first new rally car from the German automaker in some time. The most notable of their rally cars has to be the 959 Group B Paris-Dakar rally car.
