The highly-anticipated Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) Qatar, poised to set a new benchmark for automotive expos worldwide, will debut in Doha this October. A whirlwind of global brands, groundbreaking product premieres, and industry-leading innovation awaits visitors at the debut show. Positioned to complement Doha’s exciting line-up of international events, including the 2023 Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix, the auto show is set to amplify Qatar’s rapidly expanding global events footprint.
Qatar Tourism, in partnership with GIMS, is ready to host 30 esteemed automotive brands at the inaugural event. The Doha-hosted show marks the first-ever GIMS held outside its home country, a testament to Qatar’s growing appeal as an international event hub. The roster of exotic car exhibitors, a testament to the innovative, trans-continental motor show concept, will be announced on GIMS social media channels in the coming weeks.
Visitors will be privy to ten exclusive product premieres, a treat for automotive enthusiasts looking to experience the industry’s latest innovations firsthand. Beyond the state-of-the-art Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC), four other venues promise a varied and immersive festival experience.
Berthold Trenkel, Chief Operating Officer at Qatar Tourism, expressed his enthusiasm, “Qatar, with its array of exceptional hotels, captivating landmarks, and robust event organization capabilities, is the perfect location for the first-ever GIMS outside its home country.”
GIMS Qatar coincides with the Qatar Grand Prix 2023, ensuring an adrenaline-filled week for all motor enthusiasts. The full GIMS Qatar program will encompass a plethora of activities, including a future of car design forum, off-road adventure experiences, and a classic automobiles gallery, to name a few.
Qatar, emerging as a preferred destination for global events, continues to capitalize on its strategic central location, award-winning facilities, and progressive tourism policies. Sandro Mesquita, CEO of GIMS, conveyed his optimism, “We are on track to establish the event as the premier motor show for the Middle East, bridging the gap between the thriving automotive industries in the East and west.”
Looking beyond 2023, GIMS is welcoming exhibitor registrations for its 100th-anniversary show in Geneva, February 2024. This landmark event promises to celebrate automotive innovation past and future, under the fitting tagline ‘Auto. Future. Now.’
As the inaugural GIMS Qatar gears up to make a grand entrance in Doha, it heralds a new era of international automotive exhibitions. With its exciting line-up, the event is poised to enthrall auto enthusiasts and cement Qatar’s position as a pivotal player in the global events stage.
