E-Sport competitive motorsports have exponentially grown to a professional scale, thanks in part to the support of world-renowned manufacturers like Porsche, which invite gamers globally to race side-by-side in high-stakes, sponsored events. The Porsche Esports Challenge USA has whittled down its competitors to the top 16 finalists who will face off at the Grand Final.
Taking place at the legendary WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on September 30, 2023, the Grand Final will be a pivotal event held in the Bose Esports Arena during Rennsport Reunion 7. Ayesha Coker, Vice President of Marketing at Porsche Cars North America, expressed her excitement for these dedicated gamers who have proven their mettle in this high-stakes competition, saying they can’t wait to welcome them to “the largest gathering of Porsche fans in the world.”
Over June and July, the esports scene witnessed an intense series of qualifying rounds featuring over 36,000 competitors across the United States. Gamers showcased their racing prowess both virtually in Gran Turismo™ 7 and in-person at various Porsche Experience Centers including those in Los Angeles and Atlanta, as well as four other U.S. Porsche Centers.
The 2023 Porsche Esports Challenge USA has successfully bridged the gap between digital and real-world racing, offering a platform for passionate racers to demonstrate their skills. As the clock ticks down to the Grand Final, all eyes will be on these elite 16 as they rev up their virtual engines for a shot at esports glory.
