Ferrari completes a new test track to trial its future cohort of supercars.
For nearly 80 years, Ferrari has been known for its consistent presence in the highest echelons of motorsport, as well as in the world of supercars and performance cars. With its latest lineup featuring hybrid and ICE-powered models that represent some of the most cutting-edge, luxurious, beautiful, exclusive, and powerful vehicles on the market today, as well as a motorsport track record that includes three Le Mans wins in a row, Ferrari is still very much on top of the automotive world.
However, a new era is on the horizon, and with it comes the construction of a new test track alongside Ferrari’s iconic Fiorano Circuit. It’s called the e-Vortex, and the new test circuit took only four months to complete, with roughly a mile and a quarter of length, and sections throughout meant to test new Ferraris fresh off the production line repeatedly for various driving situations in a safe environment.
The new e-Vortex test track is said to help testing be “gradually transferred from the road to the track,” with its design helping Ferrari objectively assess performance or detect anomalies. Another aim of the new test circuit is to reduce traffic in the surrounding area. In addition to the new e-Vortex test circuit, a new overhaul workshop, with nearly 11,000 square feet of space, has been built as well, meant to house checks and work on the cars. Ready for a new era of the Prancing Horse, the new e-Vortex test track has been completed to make sure a new herd of Ferraris is as incredible as it can be.
