Dan Harris in Bend, Oregon spent more than 40,000 hours working to create the one-of-a-kind creation you see in this article, the Learmousine Concept. As the name suggests, it was built around a Learjet fuselage mated to a custom steel skeletal frame. Harris had to develop a patent-pending rear engine bay, drivetrain, suspension and the computer systems. It’s a labor of love and it shows.
Instead of a jet engine, it’s powered by an 8.1-liter Chevrolet Vortec V8 engine that pushes out 400 horsepower. Filling in the space inside the jet engine nacelles are huge speakers that can just play jet engine sounds.
Inside the Learmousine, it’s a party. There’s seating for up to 18 passengers, thanks to the diamond stitched leather seats. There’s also an infinity floor, refreshment center and a 42-inch TV. For the driver’s cockpit, they have a bucket seat to sit in and plenty of technology in front of them to ensure a safe drive. Because of the Learmousine’s design, multiple screens act as mirrors to the driver can keep an eye on the traffic that’s gawking at them.
