Koenigsegg Automotive continues to redefine hypercar excellence with the Jesko Absolut, which has just shattered the 0-400-0 km/h world record. On June 27th, 2024, at an airfield in Örebro, Sweden, the Jesko Absolut, driven by Koenigsegg test driver Markus Lundh, completed the run in a mind-boggling 27.83 seconds. The achievement not only crushes the previous record set by the Regera in 2023 but also cements Koenigsegg’s status as the manufacturer of the world’s fastest and most innovative megacars.
The Jesko Absolut’s aerodynamics played a pivotal role in Koenigsegg’s new World Record. With its streamlined design, minimal drag, and a coefficient of drag of just 0.278, the Jesko Absolut is engineered for exceptional straight-line speed. Running on E85 fuel and standard Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 R tires, the car remained in its as-delivered condition, with the only modifications being a roll cage and a One:1 driver seat for safety. The result? Four new world records for a fully homologated, standard production car, including a 0-250 mph time of 18.82 seconds and a 0-250-0 mph time of 28.27 seconds.
Christian von Koenigsegg’s comment after the record run highlights the significance of this achievement. He stressed the precision and reliability of the Jesko Absolut’s performance simulations and calculations, expressing confidence in its potential to become the fastest fully homologated production car globally. This record-breaking run showcases the extraordinary capabilities of the Jesko Absolut and hints at even more thrilling records on the horizon as Koenigsegg continues to push the boundaries of automotive performance with the Jesko Attack and other upcoming models.
