After 40 years, duPont REGISTRY’s cover cars capture moments in automotive history.
This year, duPont REGISTRY, the source for supercars since 1985, is celebrating its 40th anniversary. In that time, some of the world’s most desirable, iconic, and influential luxury and exotic cars have graced the cover of our magazine over the past 40 years, and together, the cover cars of duPont REGISTRY’s hundreds of monthly issues tell a story of automotive history and its evolution since the ‘80s.
Looking back at duPont REGISTRY’s cover cars from the year 1995, some serious nostalgia is stirred up for any automotive enthusiast, and each year, a cover car shows an iconic moment of the past, when a car we see as a classic today was the hottest new creation on the market. Take a trip down memory lane and look at our 1995 magazine covers below, and continue to celebrate our milestone anniversary by buying a copy of our special 40th anniversary edition magazine.

January – Hulk Hogan’s Dodge Viper
Hulk Hogan’s 1994 Dodge Viper RT/10 roadster was a bold statement, and it’s still an iconic and instantly recognizable vehicle, which has since been auctioned for charity. It was the cover star at the beginning of the year for duPont REGISTRY’s January 1995 issue.

February – Ferrari F355
Ferrari’s F355, an iconic sports car from the brand’s ’90s lineup, is positioned next to a motorcycle in our February 1995 “Choices” cover.

March – BMW 850i
The BMW 8 Series of the 90s is celebrated among many for its shark-nose design, pop-up headlights, and available V12 engine, and this example, owned by baseball star Dwight Gooden, was our March 1995 cover star.

April – Porsche 911 Turbo
Our tenth anniversary issue featured the rear of the 993-generation Porsche 911 Turbo, which was recently introduced at the time. Starring on duPont REGISTRY’s April 1995 cover, the 993 would eventually be the end for the air-cooled 911.

May – Acura NSX Convertible
While the Acura NSX was offered as a targa top for open-air driving, this Acura NSX Convertible, which starred on our May 1995 cover, was the result of a custom conversion.

June – Mercedes-Benz SLK II Concept
The Mercedes-Benz SLK II concept car envisioned the eventual production SLK’s folding hardtop roof, which was revolutionary at the time, making the concept version of the small Mercedes-Benz sports car a worthy cover star for duPont REGISTRY’s June 1995 issue.

July – Chevrolet Corvette
As always, the Corvette was the cover star for July, and this special C4 convertible featured on our July 1995 issue.

August – Ferrari F50
The Ferrari F50 in 1995 was Ferrari’s shining new halo car, now cemented as a cherished member of Ferrari’s coveted “Big Five.” The August 1995 duPont REGISTRY cover star now has a new successor, Ferrari’s incredible hybrid F80.

September – Lamborghini Cala Concept
The Lamborghini Cala concept envisioned a Lamborghini powered by a V10 engine after Chrysler sold the manufacturer to Megatech. If it reached production, it would have replaced the discontinued Jalpa as Lamborghini’s entry-level supercar. The car, duPont REGISTRY’s September 1995 cover star, itself was shelved after Lamborghini was sold to the Volkswagen Group, but the idea of a V10-powered Lamborghini would eventually be realized in the form of the now-iconic Gallardo.

October – Dodge Viper
The Dodge Viper, while discontinued, lives on as a perennial favorite when it comes to American performance excellence, and during its heyday, it was the October 1994 cover star of duPont REGISTRY.

November – Aston Martin DB7
Aston Martin’s DB7 was the ’90s iteration of the cherished Aston Martin formula of British performance and luxurious elegance. It served as duPont REGISTRY’s November 1995 cover star.

December – Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet
Santa Claus yet again sits behind the wheel of a different kind of sleigh on our December 1995 cover, an open-top Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet.
