McLaren celebrates a decade of LT legacy.
In 1997, the McLaren F1 GTR “Long Tail” achieved an incredible motorsport victory, winning its category in the revered, feared, and legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race. The iconic long tail of the car improved its aerodynamics and became an important reminder of McLaren’s rich motorsport legacy. Nearly 20 years later, the “Long Tail” was revived in the form of a new special edition McLaren supercar, the 675LT, which was unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Auto Show.
A decade has passed by since then, and McLaren is celebrating the tenth anniversary of its LT supercars with a series of activities that are set to run throughout the year. In total, six McLaren LT supercars were unveiled: the 675LT, the 600LT, and the 765LT, each with coupe and Spider variants, all with revised looks, increased power, long tail aerodynamics, and desirable exclusivity.
Throughout 2025, McLaren is set to launch the “Celebrate LT” initiative, consisting of multiple programs dedicated to these models and the legacy they forged in McLaren’s modern history as a manufacturer. These include owner engagement and retailer activities, all designed with the purpose of bringing together and engaging the community of McLaren LT owners worldwide. Exclusive content will only be initially available to LT owners, with their automotive masterpieces front and center in the celebration of a decade of LT automotive excellence.
