Velocity Invitational hits pause on its 2025 event at Sonoma Raceway, aiming for a stronger return in 2026.
Velocity Invitational has decided to postpone its 2025 event at Sonoma Raceway, originally set for June 6th-8th. With the current economic climate making things tricky behind the scenes, organizers felt it was the right move to skip this year and focus on coming back strong in 2026. Jeff O’Neill, the event’s founder, said the decision wasn’t easy but needed to make sure the experience lives up to what fans expect. If you’ve ever been, you know the event is the ultimate track weekend with a mix of racing, rare cars, good food, and wine country vibes.
For those who already bought tickets, there are options: you can either get a full refund or hang onto them for the 2026 event. If you choose to hold onto your tickets, you’ll get a $50 credit per adult pass to use on-site when the event returns. The team also mentioned they’re working on some alternative ways to stay connected with the car community in 2025, so it won’t be completely quiet until next year. While it’s a bit of a bummer to skip a year, it sounds like the break will help make the next one even better.
