When Porsche launched the 991.2 GT2 RS in 2017, it showcased how far the German carmaker could push that platform. It essentially took a GT3 RS and added the twin-turbocharged flat-six out of the 911 Turbo S to create one of the quickest and most powerful 911s ever. That engine produces 700 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque, which is helped by a seven-speed PDK transmission, and sprints to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds. Flat out, it’ll hit its 211-mph electronically limited top speed, a limit Porsche placed only to protect its tires.
Despite the fact that the new 992 generation of the 911 has given way to an incredibly impressive GT3 and GT3 RS, the ruthless power and performance of the GT2 RS From the 991 generation helps it keep its status as one of the most incredible Porsche 911s ever made, with a 6:43.300 lap time on the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit with its Manthey Performance Kit, which made it the fastest street-legal production car around the circuit in 2021, a record held until the F1-derived Mercedes-AMG ONE dethroned it in 2022.
