Porsche leaves Long Beach with a big victory.
The endurance racing world is full of daunting challenges that put cars, drivers, and teams to the test, and many of those races have earned icon status as staples on the racing calendar. One of those is the Long Beach Grand Prix, which just took place as the third round of this year’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, and Porsche earned an immense victory at the iconic sprint race.
Porsche Penske Motorsports two Porsche 963 endurance racing hypercars secured a one-two finish at the race. The number 7 car, driven by Felipe Nasr and Nick Tandy finished in first place, while the number 6 car, driven by Matt Campbell and Mathieu Jaminet, won second place. However, that wasn’t the only victory that Porsche is celebrating after the 2025 Long Beach Grand Prix. AO Racing, a customer team with a Porsche 911 GT3 R in the GTD class, won the class.
The incredible victory at this year’s Long Beach Grand Prix marks Porsche’s third straight victory in the championship, and its second one-two finish since its amazing victory at the 12 Hours of Sebring. With its three straight victories and two one-two finishes, Porsche has an incredible endurance racing season ahead.
