Porsche’s iconic celebration comes to Copenhagen.
Luftgekühlt is one of the most iconic Porsche events, made to honor the undeniable legacy and impact of Porsche’s lineage of air-cooled models. The original event was conceptualized by racing driver Patrick Long and creative director Howie Idleson, and starting as a gathering in Los Angeles, it’s grown since into a global celebration of automotive excellence. Its latest iteration brought Luftgekühlt to a unique venue in the Danish city of Copenhagen.
The venue is an architecturally significant 1930s airport terminal, which was lifted and moved on flatbed trucks in 1999 to bring it to its new location and preserve its historical beauty. Luftgekühlt being a celebration of culture and history in the automotive world, the unique location served as the perfect complement to the event’s historic cars.
250 cars were displayed at the event, including some of Porsche’s most coveted historic examples. Fans from all over the world gathered to see the incredible cars, as well as icons like Magnus Walker, the “Porsche of the skies” plane, and more. With the latest Copenhagen iteration of the iconic event aiming to continue preserving and celebrating iconic automotive history and culture, it’s safe to say that the latest Luftgekühlt was a success.
