Porsche’s electric performance masterpiece earns yet another record.
Porsche’s new Taycan Turbo GT has been on a world tour, smashing lap records on race tracks around the globe. As the new performance-oriented pinnacle of the Taycan range, Porsche’s new Taycan Turbo GT shows off Porsche’s first all-electric model in a more track-focused way than ever before. Complete with an available Weissach Package with the option to remove the rear seats, the Taycan Turbo GT is made to dominate tracks, which it has already done at Laguna Seca, the Nürburgring, the Shanghai International Circuit, and now the revered Interlagos in São Paulo, Brazil.
Driven by Felipe Nasr, a famed Brazilian race driver who competes in the IMSA SportsCar Championship for Porsche, the Taycan Turbo GT mustered a lap time on the Interlagos Circuit of 1:42.1. That incredible lap time makes it the new record holder for electric cars at Interlagos, besting not only the Taycan Turbo S’s previous record, but also the 911 Turbo S’s previous record.
Features like the new Taycan Turbo GT’s Attack Mode, the Turbo GT’s incredible weight savings, and the Porsche Active Ride Suspension with GT-specific tuning were key to translating the Taycan Turbo GT’s incredible 1,019 total horsepower into formidable track performance in tight corners and long straightaways. With its incredible electric performance-oriented innovation, Porsche’s new Taycan Turbo GT continues to dominate the world’s racetracks.
