In 1954, Mercedes-Benz introduced the iconic 300SL sport coupe which was later voted “Sports car of the century”. The gullwing doors have become the signature of Daimler-Benz ultimate design and engineering.
These iconic gullwing doors were brought back for the SLS when Mercedes-Benz decided to build their first fully developed in house AMG. At AMG’s headquarters in Affalterbach, Germany, the SLS was produced alongside the M159 6.3L naturally aspirated V8 engine. This engine exclusively powers the SLS AMG and is built in accordance with their motto “One Man — One Engine”. The V8 is handcrafted and assembled entirely by one “Meister” technician.
Mercedes-AMG released special editions of the SLS between 2009 and 2014. The Roadster, a soft-top convertible, the supercar Black Series wide body, inspired by the racing version of the SLS AMG GT3 and the SLS AMG GT Final Edition limited to just 350 exclusive vehicles.
And you thought it couldn’t get any better! Well, RENNtech, known for taking AMG cars to the outer limits, decided to work its magic and enhance this magnificent machine. The all- around upgrades include aerodynamic carbon fiber exterior kits as well as performance upgrades.
The combination of a direct ECU flash and custom handcrafted long-tube headers pushes the SLS up to 603 HP and 510 LB-FT. Add these modifications to your supercar and the SLS goes from 0-60 in a breathtaking 3.454 seconds.
On the exterior, the aero kit consists of a front splitter, rear diffuser and side rocker panels, all perfectly complemented to give the vehicle a unique front to rear air flow. The fully adjustable DTM Wing completes the aero and takes the SLS to another dimension. Combine the performance enhancements and the aerodynamics and a RENNtech legend is born.
