First introduced in 1972 at the Swiss Watch Show (now Baselworld), the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak made its debut in the luxury watch world during a time when dress watches superseded sports models. Since then, the Royal Oak has made the triumphant return it deserves as watch collectors now pay a hefty premium for any AP that features the brand’s iconic octagonal bezel.
Today, the horologists at Audemars Piguet are pleased to resume the legacy of the Royal Oak by revealing seven new designs to its already extensive lineup. The Audemars Piguet models featured as part of this release are the Royal Oak, Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra Thin, Royal Oak Offshore, and Royal Oak Offshore Minute Repeater Supersonnerie. With all-new case styles, dial designs, and movement technology, all of the new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watches are sure to be hit amongst all the devoted collectors and aficionados.
Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra-Thin
Audemars Piguet kicks off its release with a fresh version of its Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra-Thin, featuring a groundbreaking blend of two advanced materials. Building on the momentum of the Only Watch unique piece launched in 2021, this new 39 mm watch incorporates titanium and Bulk Metallic Glass (BMG) into its case and bracelet for the first time in the collection. Co-engineered with a palladium base, another inaugural feature, this innovative material offers enhanced shine and scratch resistance. Equipped with the recently introduced Calibre 7121, part of the 2022 “Jumbo” series (ref. 16202), the timepiece is further enhanced by a captivating smoked burgundy dial.
Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra-Thin Openworked
Audemars Piguet expands the Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra-Thin Openworked line (ref. 16204) with a new model in 18-carat yellow gold. The bright case offers a graceful frame to the state-of-the-art movement, Calibre 7124, ticking within. Its fine openworked architecture, whose yellow-gold-toned hue matches that of the case and bracelet, takes centre stage on both sides of the watch.
Royal Oak With Snow-Set Diamonds
Audemars Piguet is thrilled to debut its inaugural Royal Oak editions adorned with snow-set diamonds. Designed specifically for slender wrists, these luxury timepieces come in 34 and 37 mm sizes and are available in either 18-carat white or pink gold. They’re embellished with a medley of different-sized brilliant-cut diamonds, using the intricate and highly specialized snow setting technique. This creates a radiant glow that accentuates the Royal Oak’s complex design, evoking the magic of a winter wonderland.
Royal Oak Offshore Ceramic
These two variations, which celebrate the collection’s 30th anniversary and join the references revealed at the beginning of the year, combine different materials including ceramic, titanium and gold. Available in two aesthetics and offering optimum ergonomics, these models are complemented with a calfskin leather strap with a textile effect and are powered by the Manufacture’s latest selfwinding chronograph movement, Calibre 4401.
Royal Oak Minute Repeater Supersonnerie
For the first time, the Royal Oak Offshore comes encased in black ceramic, accentuated by elegant details in white gold and titanium. They feature the brand’s cutting-edge Supersonnerie mechanism and are powered by the hand-wound minute repeater movement, Calibre 2953. Despite ceramic’s inherent limitations in sound transmission, these pieces deliver an acoustic experience that’s nothing short of extraordinary. Blending modern design with advanced technology, these Royal Oak Offshore models expand both the technical and aesthetic possibilities for the Royal Oak collection.
