The 993 generation Porsche 911 Carrera RS is quickly becoming one of the rarest and most desirable air-cooled 911s ever produced. With just 1,104 examples rolling off the production line, it's part of only a small batch compared to the 993s total 68,029 production run. However, it is rarer for the U.S. market because it was never officially sold here. Thus, only after it met the U.S. 25-year import rule did these cars start showing up in significant numbers.
Of course, anyone can buy, register and enjoy this elusive RS and one has just come up for sale. It's the 1996 example highlighted today, with just 23,750 miles on the clock. The car is currently available for sale by Graham Rahal Performance out of Brownsburg, IN, with a $489,995 asking price.
This example combines a bright Speed Yellow exterior with a black leather interior. Subtle yellow touches throughout its cabin, like seat backs and belts, tie its aesthetic together nicely. The only pop of contrasting color comes from its red brake calipers, which sit behind its two-piece Speedline wheels.
