Remember how we all thought it was the Ferrari 488 GTO? Think again. Introducing the new Ferrari 488 Pista, a new and more aggressive take on the Italian automaker’s already fantastic model.
Images of the vehicle were posted onto FerrariChat.com by user -CD-. In these pics we see a way more aggressive version of the 488. Its front splitter is more prominent than the GTB version and there’s the addition of a massive air vent. All signs point to a more track-oriented car, right? Considering “Pista” in Italian translates to “Track,” it makes sense.
The images are one thing, but what about the specs? Thankfully Autocar Japan posted them in an article, but they, unfortunately, deleted that article. Methinks they weren’t supposed to divulge the info. Motor1.com happened to catch it in the middle of the night and posted the specs. For power, there’s a twin-turbo 3.9-liter V8 engine that produces 711 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque. Compared to the 488 GTB, that’s an increase of 50 hp and 7 lb-ft. Combines this increase of power with a reduced weight of 2,821 lbs (a 199 lbs decrease) and you have a car that will outperform the 488 GTB on the track. In fact, they note that the 0-62 mph time is only 2.8 seconds and its top speed is set at 211 mph. That’s one quick horse.

On the track, however, it all means nothing if there’s no downforce. Well, Ferrari’s engineers managed to increase the 488 Pista’s downforce by 20 percent.
Price? It’s reported that it will be at $300,000.
