This year, Porsche unveiled the Mission E Cross Turismo at the Geneva Motor Show. At the time, Porsche said it was just an electric concept study and spoke no word of it going into production. Well, it seems the feedback on the car was good because the German automaker has announced that the Mission E Cross Turismo will head to production. News of the model’s production came during a meeting with the Supervisory Board of Porsche AG. An additional 300 jobs will be created in Zuffenhausen for production of the new model.
When the concept was first announced, Oliver Blume, the CEO of Porsche AG, had this to say about the car: “The Mission E Cross Turismo is an expression of how we envision the all-electric future. It combines sportiness and everyday practicality in unique style. Our vehicle will be fast to drive, but also quick to recharge and able to replicate its performance time after time.”
