The legendary Dakar Rally proves to be one of the most grueling and challenging races on the planet, sending competitors on an off-road sprint through the world’s toughest desert conditions. Showcasing its performance on all terrain surfaces, Porsche recently launched the all-new 911 Dakar and 911 Dakar with Ralleye Design. Tackling the task of creating a road-legal off-road 911 for the public, Porsche Design celebrates the monumental moment with a special edition Chronograph 1 Collection.
The Porsche Design Chronograph 1 Dakar features a lightweight 40.8mm case crafted from titanium, with a speedometer-inspired inner bezel that tracks time through its chronograph function. While the dial design of the watch presents a simple black finish, the Dakar with Ralleye Design version includes a sub-dial painted to match the iconic livery of the Rothman’s race team.

Shying away from traditional flat-six engines, the Dakar Chronograph 1 generates power from Porsche Design’s in-house WERK 01.240 movement. A transparent sapphire backcase displays the workings of the watch through a winding rotor designed after the 911 Dakar wheels. Each watch is individually numbered to signify the limited 2,500-piece release, which is only available to future owners of the Porsche 911 Dakar and 911 Dakar with Ralleye Design.
