A Rolls-Royce icon turns 112.
Rolls-Royce is one of the most historic brands in the entire automotive industry, and even some of the symbols and signatures of the brand that are younger than the brand itself are some of the most historic symbols in the industry. One of those is the Spirit of Ecstasy, and today, Rolls-Royce celebrates its 112th anniversary. On February 6th, 1911, Rolls-Royce first registered the Spirit of Ecstasy as its intellectual property, and since then, the beautiful symbol has sat at the front of some of the world’s greatest cars ever made.

Over time, the Spirit of Ecstasy has changed, with a shape that has been gradually modified to become more aerodynamic, and today, the legendary emblem has become retractable and more technologically advanced than ever before. With the introduction of the very first all-electric Rolls-Royce, the Spectre, one of the most recognizable indications of a new era of Rolls-Royce will be yet another redesigned Spirit of Ecstasy, which will be introduced with the Spectre. After 112 years, the Spirit of Ecstasy remains a timeless symbol of the pinnacle of automotive luxury.
