O’Gara Coach and renowned British coachbuilder, Lanzante, took center stage at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering during Monterey Car Week, revealing some of the most extraordinary vehicles in modern automotive history. With a tantalizing array of one-of-a-kind builds, the show emphasized the limitless possibilities of contemporary coachbuilding.
Los Angeles-based O’Gara Coach collaborated with Lanzante to provide an exclusive and unprecedented experience in modern luxury coachbuilding. The highlight was the unveiling of four customized vehicles that reflect the pinnacle of design, performance, and artistic expression.

At the forefront was the remarkable Porsche 930 TAG Turbo art car, a vehicle that ties to Formula 1’s glorious past. The art car’s unveiling showcased Lanzante’s profound ability to blend the original character of a historical test mule with modern features like carbon ceramic brakes and Öhlins suspension. The special touch was added by Stefan Johansson, who not only drove the engine in the past but hand-painted the car’s livery in homage to his racing helmet.
Alongside the TAG Turbo, three bespoke McLaren supercars emphasized Lanzante’s expertise in elevating exceptional vehicles. The McLaren 765 LT LM25 Spider, McLaren P1 HDK, and McLaren P1 GTR-18 each told a unique story of innovation, aesthetics, and tribute to McLaren’s storied racing history.
The LM25 765LT Spider is a part of the LM25 series, which pays homage to the iconic Ueno Clinic F1 GTR. With weight-saving features, gold anodized interior switches, and 24k gold heat shielding, this limited series exemplifies the spirit of Le Mans-winning excellence.
The P1 GTR-18, an ode to the original F1 GTR-97 ‘Longtail’, showcased performance enhancements and styling cues reminiscent of the legendary ‘Longtail’ era. With increased downforce and aerodynamic upgrades, it’s the perfect blend of tradition and innovation.
The P1 HDK, short for High Downforce Kit, allowed Lanzante to explore the full range of bespoke services, transforming a standard P1 road car into a more aggressive-looking track beast. It offers customization that knows no bounds, right down to a 4.0L engine upgrade for a total power output of 1000 horsepower.
