Lamborghini World Finals 2023 earns ISO 20121 certification for sustainable event management, highlighting green initiatives.
Automobili Lamborghini, under its Direzione Cor Tauri sustainability plan, has achieved significant recognition for its green initiatives at the Lamborghini World Finals 2023. Hosted from November 16th-19th at the Vallelunga circuit near Rome, the event received the prestigious ISO 20121 certification. This certification, granted by TÜV Italia, documents that the event’s organization adhered to the highest standards of environmental, social, and economic sustainability. This accomplishment echoes the sustainable strategy of Squadra Corse, Lamborghini’s racing division, which had previously obtained the ISO 20121 certification for the Super Trofeo Europe stage at Misano in 2022. The 2023 World Finals set even higher sustainability goals, starting with educating the division’s personnel, drivers, and technicians.
The event’s sustainable management encompassed various aspects. From promoting recycling in waste management to reducing emissions by utilizing electric scooters and golf cars for staff mobility, every detail was meticulously planned. Collaborations with local businesses played a crucial role, especially in catering management, which provided organic and locally sourced food and beverages. Additionally, a meal recovery program in partnership with the Food Bank of Rome ensured leftover food was donated to charity. Special attention was given to material usage, minimizing packaging, and disposable plastics. Instead, bio-compostable cutlery and recyclable aluminum containers were used. Sticking to ISO 20121 standards, the event will undergo a post-event reporting phase, setting new sustainability targets for future events.
