From the big screen to the racetrack, Keanu Reeves does it all!
While we’ve all grown up dreaming of one day piloting high-horsepower race cars around circuits as professional racing drivers, that dream may have only come true for a very select few. But, as entry into the world of motorsports has become increasingly possible for regular Joes and Janes, factory manufacturer race programs like Toyota GR invite customers to experience the thrill of competitive racing without breaking the bank. As the Toyota GR Cup gears up for its final 8-hour endurance race event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Canadian Actor and Musician Keanu Reeves recently announced that he will be participating as a team driver for the amateur-focused race this weekend.
Along with his role as an A-list actor, Keanu’s love for all things automotive shines through his passion projects like Arch Motorcycles, founded in 2011 with business partner Gard Hollinger. All teams participating in the Toyota GR Cup use modified GR86 Cup cars with identical performance to make the race that much more competitive, leaving expert driver skills as the advantage. The factory upgrades include Bosch engine management, custom Borla exhaust, SADEV 6-speed sequential transmission, Alcon brakes, JRI adjustable shocks, OMP safety equipment, roll cage, carbon fiber rear wing, 22-gallon fuel cell, TGRNA designed MacPherson strut, Stratasys 3D printed components, a TGRNA designed splitter, and more.
