Rimac once again claims a performance throne.

As the presence of electric cars grows, their ability for torque delivery and acceleration has made many electric vehicles unprecedented performance sensations. However, Rimac Automobili, one of the most coveted and exclusive manufacturers and innovators on the EV landscape, has dedicated itself to taking that to the highest level possible, with hypercars like the Nevera consistently setting new standards for electric vehicle performance and performance in general.

After the Nevera broke several performance records, the Rimac Nevera R, a variant of the Nevera that features even higher power and track-focused performance, has now shattered the records set by the standard Nevera, including the comprehensive 0-400-0 kmh or 0-249-0 title, breaking a total of 24 records in a final validation test ahead of the customer deliveries of the near $2.7 million electric hypercar.

Thanks to its incredible 2,107 horsepower output, and thoroughly revised aerodynamics, lightweight construction, and all-wheel torque vectoring system, the Nevera R beat the Nevera’s 0-60 time by 0.08 seconds, going from 1.74 seconds to 1.66, improving the 0-100 mph time by 0.25 seconds, beating the 0-200 mph time by 1.61 seconds, and beating the 0-400-0 kmh time by an immense 4.14 seconds with its time of 25.79 seconds. As the crowning achievement on top of all the rest, the Nevera R set a new EV top speed record with its ability to reach a soaring 268.2 mph.

While the standard Nevera seemed like it was the pinnacle of hypercar and EV performance when it was first launched, the new Nevera R sacrifices some of the grand touring comfort available in the Nevera to go even further into the high-performance stratosphere. Only 40 units of the new Nevera R are set to be made, and on top of being expensive, exclusive, rare, and coveted, each example will represent a milestone in performance and the automotive industry as a whole.
