When Dodge decided to build a muscle car with 840 horsepower, it became a benchmark for an industry. Not to be outdone, Chevrolet was already working on the new C8 when the Corvette ZR1 was considered. Each car uses the latest in supercharger technology, so get ready to watch a 1000 HP Hennessey Corvette ZR1 race a Dodge Demon.
In order to achieve 840 horsepower, the Demon needs a tune for race fuel. It is only available if the Demon Crate was purchased for $1. The Demon needs 110 octane race fuel to unlock full power, but the Corvette makes 1000 horsepower and 966 lb-ft of torque on Shell 93 premium.

How they achieve this is by diving deep into the LT5 engine. It receives a big cam, ported heads, big valves, hardened pushrods, lifters, springs, retainers….You get the idea. After upgrading the internals of the 8-speed automatic, the supercharger receives a smaller pulley. If that is not enough, the HPE1200 offers 200 additional horsepower on race fuel.
