E.C.D. Cranks Up Voltage On Its Land Rover And Jaguar EV Builds

Operating as the world’s largest Land Rover restoration company, the professionals at E.C.D. Automotive Design pride itself on continuing the legacy of the Defender with bespoke customer builds. Alongside evolving the Land Rover 4×4 with engine upgrades and EV drivetrain swaps, the team recently introduced the Jaguar E-Type to its meticulously maintained production line. Today, E.C.D. is proud to announce a new partnership that will feature enhancements to its electric powertrains with brand-new batteries.

The electric power systems no longer rely on refurbished battery cells and now have the capability to charge up to 90% in less than an hour. E.C.D.’s restored classic Jaguar E-Types will pack a 42 kWh battery with a 150-mile range, while vintage Land Rover Defenders house an 84 kWh setup with a 200-mile range. Plus, drivers can take advantage of the new DC fast charge function, enabling them to top off their vehicle from 10% to 80% in less than an hour.

Improvements find their way into the interior, where a fully integrated driver display gives drivers easy access to three driving modes. There are three modes available, eco – providing an increased range and subdued pedal response, normal – the default mode, and sport – ideal for those who crave the instantaneous torque of the electric vehicle platform. The sophisticated system also allows for instant changes between two- and four-wheel-drive to help conserve battery life. Other features accessible through the display include engaging hill assist/idle creep mode and regenerative braking settings, along with visibility into charge percentage, range, and operating temperatures.
