Hennessey 665 hp Denali Runs 0-60 mph in 4.5 Seconds

Last week we revealed part of the mystery as to how John Hennessey is able to transform the new Cadillac CTS-V into the HPE 1000. A major component of the system is his new 2.9-liter supercharger, which can be utilized across the board on GM’s latest V8 engines.

To show off the potency of the new blower, his team installed it into a new GMC Denali and the results speak for themselves. In an email sent by the tuner yesterday, November 25, Hennessey Performance showed off the ability for the big SUV to reach 60 mph in only 4.5 seconds. Taking into consideration that the curb weight of a fully loaded Denali is somewhere in the neighborhood of 5,500 lbs, this is quite an achievement.

The two videos included in this article were uploaded earlier this year and late last year, and they both show the SUV’s acceleration in action.

Listen as Mr. Hennessey brings the engine speed up against the torque converter, and with a hint of wheelspin it rockets off the line. Filmed at their own closed drag strip in Sealy, Texas, the big GMC rockets through the ¼ mile in only 13.1 seconds with a trap speed of 110 mph. This is faster than most performance cars, and quicker than many supercars of only a few years ago. Thanks to 650 hp and 658 lb-ft of torque, you will have more power than you will ever need.

The package includes professional installation and calibration by his engineers, and is backed by a 3yr/36,000 warranty. If you have a GMC or Chevrolet truck or SUV, Hennessey has many options available.
