Aston Martin DB5 Goldfinger Continuation #1 Completed

What once was old is new again, and Aston Martin have completed the first new DB5 in over 50 years. As an iconic continuation car, it was built with original tooling and identical upgrades featured in the James Bond classic: Goldfinger. Less than 900 DB5 coupes were built between ’63 and ’65, and the car was immortalized with Agent 007 behind the wheel.

“Job 1” took over 4,500 hours to build, in cooperation with EON Productions- the owners of the Bond film franchise. Only 25 cars will be built, with each featuring a smokescreen, revolving license plates, machine guns, bullet shields, and other gadgets developed by Q. Under the hood is a 4-liter straight-six with triple SU carburetors. ZF supplies a 5-speed gearbox, and the differential is limited-slip. Power disc brakes and manual steering are linked to coil-over shocks and a thick front sway bar. Deliveries are targeted to be completed this fall, unfortunately, all cars have been sold. The best way to experience the quality and power of Aston Martin is in the new DBS Superleggera, as I was in awe after a weekend review.
