Aston Martin gave F1 fans a little something extra at the Bahrain Grand Prix.

The Bahrain Grand Prix over the weekend proved to be the perfect spot for Aston Martin to show just what the Valkyrie AMR Pro, its most extreme car yet, was capable of doing. The venue came complete with a crowd full of passionate Formula 1 fans to watch, and with a Cosworth-built, naturally aspirated V12 engine able to rev up to 11,000 rpm, the crowd had little choice but to pay attention.

As a matter of fact, the sound of the Valkyrie was something much different on the track during the Grand Prix weekend, because it has been decades since V12 engines graced the Formula 1 championships. The Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro is a track-only car, with a 6.5-liter engine producing 1000 horsepower, so the car’s runs before the Saturday Qualifying sessions and the Sunday race were no opening act to miss.

Tobias Moers, CEO of Aston Martin, claims that the car “is approaching F1 performance levels,” and Dirk Müller, the man behind the wheel, backs this up, saying it is “closer to an F1 car in terms of performance than anything else I have ever driven.” And this performance isn’t just for Aston Martin development drivers to enjoy. The owners of just 40 Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pros will all have the opportunity to be a part of a dedicated Aston Martin track experience, which takes them and their cars to incredible FIA circuits around the world to race their cars with trackside support from F1 and endurance racing drivers. The Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro makes the wildest racing dreams into reality.
