Bentley Unveils Continental GT Convertible

If you find yourself in the crosshairs of Winter, we have something that will remind you of warmer weather. The 3rd generation Continental GT Convertible has your name on it. It is hard to believe what began in 2003. A press release earlier today highlights the grace and power found in their latest achievement.

Their first focus was on a new top. By simplifying the power operations, it is the first modern Bentley to use a Z-fold technique. This allows it to offer more insulation along with a 3 dB reduction in road noise compared to its predecessor. This hand-stitched masterpiece is available in than 17 colors, and it operates at up to 30 mph.

Under the hood you will find a new version of an old friend. The W12 engine has been tuned to run on 6 cylinders while cruising, and thanks to the unique firing order you won’t notice. Going wide open will summon 626 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque to all wheels. An 8-speed dual-clutch transmission is spun by a dual-mass flywheel to keep it ready for any situation.

Power of this level demands a competent chassis, so engineers added 5% of torsional strength and removed 20% of weight by using high-strength steel in all the right places. Other new luxuries include 3 analog gauges inset into the veneer of the instrument panel. Under them is a 12.3″ configurable display that sends audio to a 2,200-watt Naim system with only 18 speakers! Pricing has yet to be released, but our dealers have all the details.
