Continental GT Baton Pass 1

Bentley Motors

Bentley Motors commemorates two decades of the iconic Continental GT with a memorable global rally, highlighting the arrival of a special 20th-anniversary baton at the manufacturer’s Crewe headquarters. This global journey, traversing continents from Europe to Asia and the Americas, involved 20 journalists and content creators, each partaking in memorable drives reflecting each year of the Continental GT’s outstanding production history.

Launched in 2003, the first-generation Continental GT marked a turning point for Bentley, predicting a new era with its all-new design, all-wheel drive, and innovative W12 engine. This flagship model quickly pushed Bentley to the forefront of luxury automotive brands worldwide. The meticulously crafted 20th-anniversary baton, designed in the Crewe studio, features a Cypress Green finish, mirroring the first production Continental GT. Chris Cooke, Head of Bentley Design Collaborations, explains that every element of the baton is inspired by the car, from the powerline to the muscular haunch over the rear wheel.

The baton’s journey signifies the evolution of the Continental GT from its inception – a car that redefined the luxury coupe segment with unparalleled performance and craftsmanship. Now in its third generation, the Continental GT continues to garner acclaim, winning prestigious awards throughout the automotive industry. This anniversary not only marks two decades of the Continental GT but also celebrates the W12 engine that powered Bentley’s global success. The 20th-anniversary baton, now residing in Bentley’s Heritage Garage alongside the first Continental GT, represents a significant chapter in Bentley’s history, highlighting its legacy of luxury, innovation, and automotive excellence.
