The new 2019 BMW Z4 model has finally been revealed after months of waiting. Presented in Pebble Beach is the exclusive BMW Z4 M40i First Edition, a special edition of the roadster that’s chalk-full of extras that you won’t find in the standard model.
When looking at the new Z4, it definitely has the DNA of the other Z Roadsters, but with added flair. The front has vertically stacked headlights that rest in a large enclosure, giving the car some stylish eyes. Between these lights is a mesh kidney grille, while large air intakes rest below each headlight enclosure. Inside is a cabin that BMW says “places the focus on the pure sports driving enjoyment of the new BMW Z4.” To do this, the ensure the cockpit was driver-focused and that all controls are accessible when on the move.

Making this First Edition stand out from other Z4 models are a few features. These include a Frozen Orange Metallic paint finish, soft-top in anthracite with a silver effect, the BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line, 19-inch light alloy wheels, Vernasca black leather trim, electrically adjustable seats and a lot more.
Powering the M40i First Edition is BMW’s updated 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine. BMW did not disclose its power rating but did say it’s enough power to launch the car from 0 to 60 in under 4.4 seconds, but that’s an estimate as of now.
BMW will be releasing the 2019 Z4’s full specifications on September 18, 2018. The 2019 BMW Z4 30i will hit the U.S. in Spring 2019, with the Z4 M40i following up in the second quarter.
