Two completely different sports competing using Bridgestones product line of high-performance tires and golf balls.

Nowadays, it’s easy to pull a vehicle’s performance figures using state-of-the-art tuning technology and high-tech dyno systems. The team at DriveTribe find more creative ways to measure the power output using other strategic challenges. On the most recent video uploaded to its YouTube channel, DriveTribe partners with Bridgestone to see if a golf ball can outperform a set of sport tires. Enlisting help from professionals, TopGear host Richard Hammond takes the wheel of DriveTribe’s BMW M5 Wagon while renowned golf YouTuber Rick Shields sets up at the tee box.

The race takes place at the old Aintree F1 track in England, where Richard Hammond needs to try and complete two laps before Rick Shields finishes the par-four hole parallel to the track on foot. The weapons of choice are a set of Bridgestone Potenza Sport tires and the Bridgestone Tour BXS golfball. At the drop of the flag, Shield tees off alongside Hammond’s perfect launch start.
