The hypercar is now being handed over to its owner.
After two years of extensive work, Bugatti has finally unveiled the final version of the La Voiture Noire. This one-off creation is an homage to Jean Bugatti’s Type 57 SC Atlantic, which he named “La Voiture Noire.” Unfortunately, this classic Bugatti disappeared before World War II and has never been seen since. While that is a loss for the automotive world, without the disappearance we would not have this spectacular hypercar. Bugatti has mulled over its creation for the past 20 years, and thankfully they finally agreed to take on the project.
“We were rather in awe of the idea of developing the La Voiture Noire. No other vehicle in the long history of Bugatti has acquired the same legendary status as the Type 57 SC Atlantic and has become so synonymous with the brand. We had a great deal of respect for this historical responsibility as well as for the customer,” explains Bugatti Design Director Achim Anscheidt.
The Bugatti La Voiture Noire is a truly magnificent creation that boasts truly unique design features. For the one-of-a-kind bodywork, Bugatti finished the visible carbon fiber off with a clearcoat that they call “Black Carbon Glossy.” Up front, the headlights have over 25 individually milled lights per side, creating a beautiful visual. Inside is a Havana Brown grain leather interior that’s based on the original car the Jean Bugatti drove. Other modifications made to the car include changes to the bodywork, cooling, thermodynamics, wheels and wheelbase.
The Bugatti La Voiture Noire was sold ot its owner, a Bugatti enthusiast, for 11 million euros (before tax), or about $13.4 million USD.
