Bugatti Says Their W16 Engine Is the End of an Era

However, CarAdvice has is reporting that Bugatti CEO Stephan Winkelmann confirmed the engine’s departure to them. He told them there will be no new 16-cylinder engine and that the current one is the “last of its kind.” Whatever powers the Divo’s successor will have some sort of electric system, and you know it will be powerful. The Chiron offers 1,500 horsepower and 1,180 lb-ft of torque, but it comes at a price for the manufacturer. 

The time it takes to build each engine and the fact it shares nothing with any other brand have sealed the fate of the sixteen-cylinder.
