A classic racer has returned. To see how the world would respond to a retro-inspired roadster, the new Bugatti Type 35 D is classic & contemporary. Because the factory designers have their hands full with production cars like the Bolide, smaller design studies are often farmed out to custom shops. Such is the case with Uedelhoven Studios. Their Facebook page mentions this project took over 5 years, combining elements of the original Type 35 along with a modern drivetrain. Front and center is Walter de Silva, the head of design for Volkswagen Group who inspired this build. Considering he has been the impetus for the Chiron and its successors, perhaps we are looking at a limited-production runabout.
