Today, RM Sotheby’s made automotive history with the auction of Bugatti’s final W16-powered production hypercar. The Bugatti Profilée took the stage in Paris in front of a crowd of collectors in the room, on the telephones, and via the internet. The remarkable example solidifies itself as a piece of hypercar history as it marks the end of an era and the opportunity for a lucky collector to acquire a piece of automotive excellence. While RM Sotheby’s originally pre-estimated the one-of-a-kind Bugatti between $4.6 million and $6 million, no one could expect the outcome that took place.
