Cadillac And Andretti Announce Plans To Form New F1 Team

General Motors’ luxury name might be emblazoned on an F1 car soon.

Especially considering the brand’s very long history, Cadillac is a fairly recent addition to the world of performance. However, with its V-designated lineup of performance-oriented cars, Cadillac has quickly become one of the most respected names in American luxury performance cars, providing stiff competition to its international counterparts. The same has gone for the racing world, but now, General Motors has announced that its plans for Cadillac are even bigger.

Already, Cadillac has introduced its new endurance racing machine, the V-LMDh, which is slated to take on the world’s most venerated tracks with its hybrid technology, but with the help of another iconic name in motorsport, Andretti Global, Cadillac has its sights set on what is arguably the racing world’s single most exclusive series: Formula 1. Having worked with General Motors before, Andretti Global is led by legendary racing driver Michael Andretti, and with both parties involved being American in origin, and the potential team to be based in the U.S. with support in the U.K., the two plan to achieve the ultimate racing glory for the United States.
