If you are in the market for an American Supercar, the Ford GT seems to be at the top of everyone’s list. We’ve seen them in countless videos and we’ve been patiently waiting for the chance to drive one. Our local Ford dealer was ready to allow us to film a delivery of the new GT, but we arrived only to be second in line. John Cena had beaten us to the punch, and we are not about to protest.

Elder Ford of Tampa was the site of the sensation, and they let Mr. Cena get behind the wheel. The GT is powered by a 3.5-liter twin turbo V6. He is quick to note the similarities between it and the V6 found in the F150, but they are two different animals. The truck version is found in the Raptor and in the SUV lineup, and it is designed to spool up early in order to haul a family and their toys. On the other hand, the Ford GT doesn’t come alive until after 5,000 rpm. Once the turbos awaken, you will have 647 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque at your command.
