Hugh Jackman to Play Enzo Ferrari in Biopic

Hugh Jackman recently returned to the big screen as Wolverine in the incredibly successful “Wolverine” film. Now, it looks like he will be returning shortly thereafter as Enzo Ferrari in Michael Mann’s upcoming biopic, reports Deadline.

This news comes over one year after it was reported that Christian Bale backed out of this film. Noomi Rapace is also in talks to play Ferrari’s estranged wife, Linda.

Mann started working on this film 17 years ago with the late Sydney Pollack, and it was supposed to start filming in Spring of 2016. The film takes a look at the rivalry between Ferrari and Maserati, back in 1957. It was during this year that a horrific crash involving a Ferrari race car driven by Alfonso de Portago in the Mille Miglia crashed into a crowd. This accident claimed the lives of the driver and nine spectators, five of which were children.
