Watch Jay Leno Drive Tim Allen’s Rare Ford RS200 Rally Car

Jay Leno and Tim Allen both have claims to fame that originate in the entertainment world. However, just as prolific as both of their illustrious careers are their car collections. On Jay Leno’s Garage, Leno drives and discusses some of the rarest and most exclusive cars made, whether owned by him or by a guest, and recently, Tim Allen made a guest appearance to the show with his Ford RS200.

The rare sports car is a mid-engined peculiarity, created with the purpose of homologation for Group B rally racing. With that in mind, it boasts four-wheel drive and has the profile of a small supercar. Built by Ford’s European division for the British market, it’s an incredibly rare car, and even rarer in the States where it’s imported.

As a purpose-built rally car, it’s unlike anything else on the road, and being a 1986 model, it adds retro appeal to the mix. While many Ford enthusiasts in the United States might think of trucks, SUVs, muscle cars, or even supercars like the Ford GT when they think of Ford’s performance portfolio, The RS200 is one of the most apparent examples that Ford Europe has a radically different approach, and its history of rallying performance machines diversifies Ford’s scope and aptitudes when it comes to automotive performance.
