While Jay-Z now owns a fleet of luxury cars, the classic 1993 Lexus GS 300 will remain one of his favorites.
After recently announcing a special edition LC 500 to commemorate Beyoncé’s tour, Lexus is partnering with Jay-Z on a new NYC exhibition. Roc Nation and Lexus are driving cultural narratives forward with the inclusion of a 1993 Lexus GS 300 in The Book Of HOV display at Brooklyn Public Library’s Central Location. This iconic vehicle was first showcased in JAY-Z’s “Dead Presidents” music video and immortalized in his hit songs like “Can I Live” and “Empire State Of Mind.” Since the exhibit’s July 14th launch, the library has seen an exceptional spike in foot traffic, hosting over 255,000 visitors (almost four times more than the same period last year.) Card sign-ups have also surged, with over 21,000 new accounts thanks to the JAY-Z limited edition cards. The Book Of HOV serves as an expansive tribute to Shawn Carter, better known as JAY-Z, highlighting his global influence as a musician, entrepreneur, and philanthropist.
“We’re excited to partner with Lexus to bring JAY-Z’s iconic ‘Off-White Lexus’ to The Book of HOV,” says Desiree Perez, CEO of Roc Nation. The vehicle adds another layer to an exhibit that has already captivated attendees. The exhibit will extend its run until December to accommodate new and returning visitors. “The vehicle display is a recognition of the mutual respect and admiration between Lexus and JAY-Z,” says Mia Phillips, senior manager of Lexus Advertising & Media. As a brand frequently mentioned in hip-hop lyrics, Lexus remains connected with a lifestyle that defined an era. The 1993 Lexus GS 300 will remain on display, sealing its place in both automotive and hip-hop history. View all Lexus models currently for sale on duPont REGISTRY by clicking the link below.
