Being one of the most successful professional athletes in the world, Michael Jordan also shares a passion for anything automotive aside from basketball. Throughout his iconic career MJ has driven and owned some of the most desirable vehicles on the planet, including classics like the Porsche 911 Turbo, Ferrari Testarossa, Mercedes-Benz SL600, and many more. Making his leap from an avid car collector to a total gear-head began with the launch of the 23xi Racing, a NASCAR team started in collaboration with driving legend Denny Hamlin. Michael Jordan and 23xi Racing are proud to debut the livery for team driver Kurt Busch’s No.45 Toyota race car for the upcoming race in Kansas, featuring a design inspired by MJ’s ‘Black Cement’ Jordan 3 sneakers from 1988.

Busch expressed his excitement for racing with 23xi by stating, “He’s a legend, he’s the GOAT and arguably the GOAT of all of sports. I’ve just met him once. It was a great discussion that we had, kind of like an interview, and a, ‘Yes, we will win together.’ So, it comes with pressure, but I love that.” Along with Kurt Busch taking the tarmac as No.45, 23xi Racing also welcomes Bubba Wallace as its No.23 driver. Each of the two NASCAR drivers sport the famous numbers that Michael Jordan wore when participating as a professional athlete in both basketball and baseball.
