Travis Pastrana is bringing a retro rally machine to the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Meet the “Family Huckster.” It’s a humble, boxy, and charming Subaru GL Wagon that Hoonigan and Subaru Motorsports USA have turned into a Gymkhana-bred racecar purpose built for Travis Pastrana to take on the Goodwood Festival of Speed, as well as the upcoming Gymkhana film for this year. Last year, Pastrana’s 2020 Airslayer STI took second place at Goodwood’s Hillclimb Shootout, and hopes are high for the Family Huckster to achieve another podium finish.

The car features an incredible 862-horsepower SUBARU BOXER 4-cylinder engine with all-wheel drive and a 6-speed sequential gearbox, with WRC-spec suspension and other tweaks and developments derived from Pastrana’s record-setting Mr. Washington hill climb run. Despite having retro looks, the car features active aerodynamics and extensive use of carbon fiber, and custom one-off KMC wheels inspired by the wheels Subaru actually offered in the ‘80s, except the ones on the race car feature a forged monoblock design that is modern, light, and durable.

The look of the car embraces the boxy look of the original Subaru GL wagon, and features a flannel-like livery, along with a gauge cluster and dashboard that modernizes what the old car was known for, with digital readouts in the 1980s Subaru style, as well as a blue carbon fiber dashboard that mimics the blue dashboard of the old car. From 1983 to 2022, this zany take on the Subaru GL wagon is sure to cause a stir at Goodwood.
