A pickup truck legend has gone electric.
The Chevrolet Silverado has enjoyed decades of being noe of the country’s favorite pickup truck nameplates, known for its capability and wide range of available trim levels and options for truck owners. However, this year sees the Silverado undergo one of its biggest evolutions yet, as the first-ever 2024 All-Electric Chevrolet Silverado is now in production. Based on General Motors’ Ultium platform, the Silverado is the latest to join Chevrolet’s burgeoning all-electric model lineup.
With the futurism of electrification and the capability for truck duty that the Silverado is well-known for, the new Silverado EV features as much as 754 horsepower and 785 lb/ft of torque, with a 0-60 time of as little as 4.5 seconds. While the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV will feature three available specs: the 4WT, 3WT, and RST, the First Edition RST model will feature a host of high-tech options like four-wheel steering, air suspension, a 17-inch infotainment display and Super Cruise driver assistance.
510 horsepower and 615 lb/ft of torque power the fleet-focused WT models, with the 4WT offering 10,000 pounds of towing capacity, and 1,500 pounds of payload capacity. Meanwhile, the 4WT boasts a 450-mile range, while the 3WT offers a 393-mile range, and the First Edition RST has 440 miles of range.
Chagring is made easy with standard DC fast charging, and the exclusive offering of a Crew Cab bodystyle ensures comfort regardless of where a passenger sits. In addition, a shorter overhang in front adds an aggressive look, and the aerodynamic design of the new Silverado EV WT achieves the lowest estimated drag coefficient of any available full-size pickup truck, helping contribute to the impressive range figures.
With its immense power, impressive range, and suite of high-tech features, the new 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV First Edition RST is available with a starting MSRP of $94,500. With its technology and impressive stats, it promises to bring the Silverado’s reputation for capability into the electric future.
