This new track machine is reaching for the motorsport stars.

De Tomaso is a brand with plenty of motorsport legacy. Its supercars have been loved by car enthusiasts the world over for decades, and the brand’s racing exploits in the past are still celebrated today. With the P72, De Tomaso has reflected on its past and made a driver’s hypercar that appeals to the classic joys of motorsport, with plenty of power, style, and capability to make driving and witnessing it in action simply amazing. Now, De Tomaso introduces a new car, the P900, and while style is still there in spades, this new hypercar has a clear motorsport focus, being track-only. For De Tomaso, simply resting on its racing laurels wasn’t enough.

The new De Tomaso P900 was born and raised on the Nürburgring, and the brand says that it will be “the only performance hypercar to be designed, developed, and validated” on the legendary track. With 900 horsepower coming from its naturally-aspirated V12 engine that revs all the way to a screaming 12,300 rpm, and a scant dry weight of just over 1,984 pounds, the P900 is absolutely a certifiable performance machine. Much of its carbon fiber engineering enlisted the help of Capricorn GmbH, a firm known for work on F1 and the incredibly famous Porsche 919 EVO LMP1 race car. The car also stays true to De Tomaso’s history, with the bespoke V12 engine being a dream that Alejandro De Tomaso himself had, and De Tomaso’s archives showing the beginnings of a prototype of what that engine would have been.

The new hypercar will also be incredibly exclusive, with only 18 units set to be produced globally. Each of these will be priced at $3 million and will be individualized by its owner with numerous bespoke options. With exclusivity comes an unparalleled ownership experience, and De Tomaso plans to create a De Tomaso Competizione program, putting together an annual six-race calendar for the P900’s gentleman-driver owners, allowing them to race their incredible performance vehicles at some of the world’s most celebrated racing courses. In addition, owners have the option of having their vehicles stored and maintained at De Tomaso’s own Nürburgring facilities. This new De Tomaso hypercar is ready to become the storied brand’s next racing legend.
