The newest exhibition at the Petersen Automotive Museum is of an icon brought back to the future.

The Petersen Automotive Museum is full of the world’s greatest car icons, and each show honors another car that transcended the car world either with undeniably incredible design, engineering, innovation, and craftsmanship or by being an icon in its own right in pop culture. The DeLorean DMC12 was one of those icons, and with its movie appearances and quintessential 80s origin story, it’s a car and a brand that has unmistakable charm. The new DeLorean Alpha5 is the new DeLorean’s take on recapturing that charm, and it introduced itself at Monterey Car Week to a wowed audience. Now, the car is heading to the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles to be on display in the lobby.

Here, the Petersen Museum changes from showing off DeLorean’s storied past to instead showing DeLorean’s future. Along with that, two other DeLorean EV concepts will be on view at the museum, as the “Alternating Currents” exhibition at the museum on the second floor will be showing them. The opportunity to get a look at the new Alpha5 is an incredible one as the Petersen Museum says that it will be one of the first places in the world where you can catch a glimpse at the new car. The DeLorean Alpha5 will be on display at the Petersen Automotive Museum until September 25.
