DeLorean Motor Company

Its re-introduction to the automotive industry features an all-new vehicle platform, and two futuristic concept models.

Although Monterey Car Week and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance focus on new model debuts for manufacturers, they also act as a stage for brands looking to re-enter the automotive industry. For the innovative team at DeLorean Motor Company, this year proved to be special because it was the first vehicle launch since the mainstream production of the DMC-12 in the early 80s. While the electrified Alpha5 took the Pebble Beach stage for its debut after four generations of evolution, DeLorean kept two other magnificent concepts under wraps until the final day of Monterey Car Week 2022. DeLorean is proud to showcase the 2024 Alpha5 Plasmatail and 2040 Omega as two new concept models in line with the motor company’s performance-focused future.

The Alpha5 Plasmatail is an extension to the all-new Alpha5 release, adding length in the rear of the original coupe to give it a shooting brake appearance. The interior configuration offers the same 5-passenger seating arrangement as the Alpha5, with the added storage space to give it a more functional and stylish look. The 2040 DeLorean Omega shape itself in a completely new form, representing an all-new chapter for the brand and its dedication to innovation. The 2040 Omega features roots from a Baja-themed off-road racing platform, introducing DeLorean to a new environment to dominate. Although specs and pricing have yet to be announced, this year certainly checks out as DeLorean Motor Company’s welcome back party.
